UPDATED Ohlins DFV Comfort Tuned Model 3 / Y (INSTALLED)

The Ohlins suspension is awesome. Much softer ride especially over rough road. I haven’t tracked the car so I don’t know how it holds up on corners but I have no complaints so far. I like the fact that it lowered the car some and closed up some of the gap between the tire and the wheel well. I’d buy this suspension again.

I recently upgraded my 2023 MYP with the ZEVspec :u00d6:hlins DFV Comfort-Tuned kit, and it completely transformed how the car feels on the road. Right from the first drive, the improvement in ride quality, responsiveness, and overall stability was immediately noticeable. And this is coming from a daily-driver dad who just wanted a smoother commute… but now I find myself taking the long way home for fun. Thanks a lot, Zevcentric I might be a full-blown driving enthusiast now:wink::wink::wink:

The :u00d6:hlins absorbs bumps with ease while still providing sharp road feedback. Cornering feels much more stable and predictable even at higher speeds or on rough surfaces. I actually went back to those same stretches of uneven pavement and dips that used to drive me crazy (looking at you, SR 84 and Altamont Pass), just to see the difference and it handled them like a champ!

If you’re after that perfect middle ground between daily drivability and performance like me, the :u00d6:hlins is absolutely worth it. It lives up to the #zevspec hype!

• Ceramic coated Aspira AF-10 19x9. 5 in Brushed Titanium wrapped with Falken 460 AS tires (This wheel was the gateway to all my unplanned upgrades :joy: All I meant to do was replace my :u00dc:berturbine tires. . . and here we are :sweat_smile: #noregrets)
• Aspira Spline Lug nuts + lock
• Upgraded bushings + MPP camber arms

Eliminates the harshness of the Model Y suspension. Vehicle feels more attached to the road.

Here’s my thoughts on the Öhlins DFV Comfort Coilovers I recently had installed on my Tesla Model 3. The most noticeable improvement is how the car handles potholes. Before the install, every time the car hit a pothole, you’d get that harsh, crashing sensation right into the cabin – definitely not comfortable. But with the Öhlins coilovers, those same potholes feel a lot softer and less jarring. The suspension absorbs the impact much better, making for a way smoother ride.

Bumps are another area where these coilovers really shine. On the stock suspension, bumps could feel pretty jarring, but with the Öhlins, they’re much smoother, and you feel a lot less of the impact inside the car. The best part? It doesn’t come at the cost of handling. The car still feels great in the corners – I’d even say it handles curves a bit better than stock.

On rougher road surfaces, where you usually get a lot of vibration and noise, things are also noticeably smoother. It’s not a huge difference, but enough to make the ride more comfortable. Living in SF, I’m constantly dealing with bad roads, especially in areas like the Mission. After installing these coilovers, the ride is just way more bearable.

So, if you’re looking for a way to improve your Model 3’s ride quality without sacrificing handling, I’d definitely recommend checking out the Öhlins DFV Comfort Coilovers. They’ve made a big difference for me.

As a new dad, the stock suspension’s less-than-ideal ride quality in my car was a concern, especially with my child and wife in the backseat. These coilovers are incredible and I couldn't believe it when I first experienced it. Previously I had a different set of Ohlins installed on my car and I wasn't quite happy with it. With softer springs there was just too much body roll, while only marginally improving the ride. When putting in stiffer springs, the body roll was still not what I was expecting and the ride wasn’t comfortable anymore.

I then went to ZEVcentric to put the factory suspension back in. On the way out, after making an appointment for the install, I was offered to do a test drive in a Model Y which had these new Ohlins installed. Doing the test drive immediately sold me, it was just unbelievable how good and comfortable the car felt.

Especially when comparing these now to the previous Ohlins. The biggest issue, the body roll, was completely resolved. The car feels so planted and composed while having an amazing ability in damping road imperfections and bumps. When going over bumps, it just feels as if the car would land on a cushion, it's amazing.

Thank you ZEVcentric! I am really happy with the information I was provided before I bought these coilovers, which helped me make an informed decision. If I want to get anything done with my car in the future, I will definitely come back here.

With all that said, if you can, just do a test drive and see for yourself.

The vehicle absolutely glides over the bumps and cracks now. It's smooth as butter and rivals any other vehicle out there on the streets. Small imperfections are not even felt at all as the coilovers take care of that way before the energy from those cracks make it into your body. For curves and turns, the car just steers into them now, without hesitation and feeling like a car half its size. The understeer and unsettled feeling is completely gone. My wife who has noticed many times before with the OEM setup about how much body lean passengers get as I'm taking a curve (even under the speed limits), and you never really settle down into neutral position again until a bit later. Nowadays, she's so much more comfortable and is able to fall asleep even quicker than she usually does on our car rides.

We opted to go up to 15 just for a bit more stiffness without as many oscillations coming back from larger bumps. It's already paid back dividends just by how much more fun it is to drive the vehicle, and I still find myself just saying, "wth" every time I hit bumpy roads and not feeling them how I used to. You do get what you pay for and if there are hesitations to go for this, go for a test ride with the folks here at ZEVCentric. You will transform your Model 3/Y into what it should've been coming out of the Tesla factory from the get go: a fun and comfortable vehicle carrying all the comfort you expect from a luxury vehicle, and the performance and tech of the cutting edge.
