Why upgrade the factory undertray?
Early Model 3 vehicles used a fabric-like front aero shield that could absorb water and tear. Later Model 3 and Model Y vehicles use a molded plastic shield that remains vulnerable to impacts. Neither factory design provides substantial protection for the coolant hoses and other components ahead of the battery pack.
