RMaxx Rock Slider Overview
The running board and rock-slider armor are welded together as one unit. The slider rail mounts directly to the Rivian frame structure and sits with its lower edge approximately one inch below the vehicle belly to help protect the damage-prone center section. The original design specification accounts for the R1T's approximately 7,200-pound curb weight and GVWR of just over 8,500 pounds.
- Heavy-wall 2-inch square steel slider tubing
- Direct-to-frame contact using factory mounting points
- Triangulated, plate-welded, and gusseted construction
- No drilling, cutting, or permanent frame modification
- Angled and capped leading edge for smoother slider engagement
- Designed to remain inside the outer tire aerodynamic surface to minimize range impact
- Textured black powder coat with OEM-grade zinc coating for corrosion protection
- Made in the USA
Integrated Running Boards
- CNC-bent 1.75-inch OD alloy-steel tubing
- Laser-cut welded brackets and steel step plates
- Rated for a 500-pound load
- Available with replaceable Triple Slot or Triple Square tread plates
Fitment and Compatibility
- 2022+ Rivian R1T, with Gen 1 and Gen 2 options
- 2022+ Rivian R1S, with Gen 1 and Gen 2 options
- Compatible with Rivian Reinforced Underbody Shield (RUS)
- Uses the correct factory Rivian fastener bosses without removing factory frame, battery, or RUS fasteners
- All factory jack-puck locations remain accessible
- The rock-slider version may be used as a jacking point from the vehicle-side center
The factory outer plastic underbody covers must be removed for installation and are not reused with the rock-slider version. Covers may be trimmed and reused only with the separate running-board-only version.
The slider cannot be added later to a running-board-only assembly because the two versions are welded and manufactured as different products.
Additional Notes
- No extra parts or specialty tools are required for the bolt-on hardware installation.
- The existing product guidance reports no noise or whistling.
- Any added exterior component can technically affect range; the tucked placement and leading-edge design are intended to minimize that effect.
- Installation hardware and video instructions are included with the product.
