Chicago to ZEVcentric: Mark’s Model 3 Performance

Mark’s 2020 Tesla Model 3 Performance has evolved through several stages, but the goal has remained the same: build something distinctive without sacrificing the way the car drives.

The project originally began with MPP Comfort coilovers purchased through ZEVcentric. As Mark’s vision for the car developed, however, he decided to take the suspension in a different direction. After talking through the setup with Rishie, Mark chose a UAS air suspension system paired with Air Lift 3H management—and ultimately made the decision to send the car all the way from Chicago to ZEVcentric in California to have the setup dialed in properly.

The suspension was complemented by a comprehensive selection of Mountain Pass Performance chassis components, including adjustable front upper control arms, solid front lower control arm bearings, V2 caster bearings, and rear traction, trailing, toe, and camber arms.

Just as important was getting the wheel fitment right. Working with Rishie, Mark paired the car with ZEVspec 19×10 Volk Racing TE37 Ultra M-Spec wheels in Mag Blue, wrapped in 275/35R19 Falken Azenis FK460 all-season tires. The combination gives the car an unmistakable look while tying together the aggressive stance and air-suspension setup.

Mark continued developing the exterior with an Ikon front lip, Vorsteiner side skirts, and CMST Tuning rear diffuser, creating a Model 3 Performance that feels cohesive rather than simply modified.

For Mark, though, the build has been about more than the parts. After working with ZEVcentric from across the country and eventually shipping the car from Chicago to California, he described the experience as the best service and overall experience he’s had.

And this still isn’t necessarily the end of the story.
