While our previous comfort kit was designed for comfort while lowering and still kept sporty driving in mind, this new kit is designed for ride heights closer to OEM and is fully focused on ride comfort with no compromise.
This new revision rides incredibly smoothly — not a small step from our previous comfort kit. We would characterize the difference more like the contrast between a performance suspension and a very soft, plush comfort ride. That’s why we’ve renamed the coilover kit Plush Comfort.
What Makes This Kit Ride So Well?
Our comfort coilovers were designed for the user who wants to improve ride quality while retaining the ability to fine-tune ride height to an exact preference. These coilovers offer what we feel is the optimal comfort-oriented ride for a Model Y.
They reduce much of the harshness caused by the firm Tesla damper and early OE bump-stop engagement. With generous suspension travel, potholes and large road imperfections are absorbed more effectively. In fact, the faster you go, the smoother it gets.
An aftermarket suspension can make or break the enjoyment of a vehicle. Unfortunately for Model Y owners, Tesla tuned the suspension to engage the bump stops fairly early in the suspension travel. The OE bump stops increase the spring rate very rapidly over larger impacts, while the factory shock absorbers can feel harsh over those same events.
The MPP Plush Comfort kit allows more travel before engaging the bump stops, and the dampers are valved to soak up bumps and potholes without the hard-landing sensation. Simply put, the kit uses more of the available suspension travel to deliver a more comfortable ride, while the damper tuning keeps the body controlled rather than floaty or unstable.
What Ride Height Range Is This Kit Designed For?
We support a broad range of ride-height adjustments, from just above factory Performance Model Y ride height down to approximately as low as you would reasonably want to go.
For owners looking to raise their Model Y, this kit can also be used in combination with the MPP Lift Kit to add 1.75" of ride height.
If the ride height you are targeting is below the Performance Model Y, or if you are using the lift kit to raise your Model Y, MPP rear camber arms are basically mandatory. Without them, rear tire wear can become excessive and camber can fall well outside an acceptable range.

* The Model Y has already had numerous spring revisions, so the best approach is to measure your vehicle if you’re looking to confirm the exact amount of lowering. However, we can confidently say our kit offers the maximum allowed lowering before there is a risk of suspension interference.
